Social and environmental policy of BNDES: spatial fix to territorial mending - the cases of the Santo Antonio and Jirau (RO) and the UHE Belo Monte (PA) hydroelectric plants

The article seeks to present the paradoxical position and discourse of a Bank that is both enabler of spatial macro-adjustments and proponent of territorial micro-corrections. The social and environmental policy of BNDES are evaluated on basis of the cases of megaprojects, specifically the Madeira and Belo Monte hydraulic plants.
