The discourse of the social actors involved in the socio-environmental conflict on the coast of Paraná from the perspective of political ecology

Environmental conflicts show processes of environmental injustice and environmental inequality. However, they also demonstrate that the social actors affected or opposed to the situation of environmental injustice are not passive and are articulated in resistance movements. In the conflict arena, social actors mobilize their speeches in order to try to convince other actors or social groups. Thus, this article sought to analyze, in the light of political ecology, the discourse of the social actors involved in the socio-environmental conflict regarding industrial-port territorialization in Pontal do Paraná. Four speeches were identified, whose arguments were correlated to theoretical-analytical concepts of political ecology, more specifically in the field of socio-environmental conflicts.
